Mi Watch: This Time With A Circular Body, Although Repeating With Wearos But Overlook A Few Simple Things
Mi Watch is not a new company in the territory of wearables. For years ago, we have been able to try the Mi Band line of the brand, in addition to Amazfit products, such as the GTS, which, although not directly dependent on Xiaomi, have a lot to do.
Where the Chinese firm is new is in the WearOS territory, where they have recently premiered with the Xiaomi Mi Watch, a proposal with a design similar to the Apple Watch, although with the heart of a watch with WearOS in use. Now, the company has presented a special edition of the Mi Watch for the Chinese market, although it is quite different from the “original” watch, and reveals an interesting path that Xiaomi is beginning to travel.
Proposals such as the Amazfit Stratos or the Amazfit GTR may come to mind when talking about spherical Xiaomi watches. However, remember here that these smartwatches are from Amazfit, not Xiaomi as such, and that they have their own operating systems, rather than Wear OS.
What Xiaomi has presented in China, as we read in Gizchina, has been a Forbidden Edition of the Xiaomi Mi Watch. The company has already made this move with the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3, which has its Forbidden edition, which can be purchased from Chinese pages to bring it to Spain.
There’s A Right Way To Talk About Xiaomi Launches A Special Edition Of The Mi Watch: This Time With A Circular Body, Although Repeating With Wearos And There’s Another Way…
Despite being a special edition, the watch is completely different from the Mi Watch. To start, in this case we find a body with a sphere, thus breaking the rectangular design of the Xiaomi Mi Watch. Specifically, we find a 1.3-inch AMOLED panel. This means, on the one hand, the company’s first circular smartwatch with WearOS and, on the other, that before the end of the year, Xiaomi already has two Mi Watch models under its belt.
At the level of specifications, there is an important downgrade. The processor becomes the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100, a proposal that already has many years of solera, and that is below the 3100 that the Mi Watch is wearing. The terminal also has 512 GB of internal memory along with 4 GB of RAM, accompanied by a 400mAh battery. They could not miss the connectivity GPS, NFC (only functional in China) or LTE, as well as IP68 protection.
Like his older brother, he has MIUI for Watch, the personalization layer through which Xiaomi modifies WearOS to make it similar to the MIUI found in smartphones. The exchange price is 167 euros and, although it is intended for the Chinese market, we have verified that the Mi MIX 3 Forbidden Edition can be purchased on pages such as Aliexpress, so we can hope that this circular watch can also be imported.
