Successful Huawei Is Looking For A Way To Include Google Apps In Its Own App Store
Huawei Is Looking After the US veto, Huawei cannot use Google apps or its Android PlayStore, but it could, according to, have adapted versions in its app store, the AppGallery
Huawei will soon be a year without Google’s services or applications, a direct consequence of the US veto of the Chinese company. But it seems that reconciliation between the two companies is possible and close.
Google has already approached Huawei in the past, since it seems that it does not want to lose the main Chinese mobile manufacturer. And for its part, Huawei seems to have a medium-term solution so that its users can continue to use the YouTube, Gmail, Maps and other apps without having to search and update them on their own: include them in the AppGallery, that is, the store of Huawei mobile apps.

It sounds complicated, but it is not so much. In the same way that Apple’s mobiles, the iPhone, have Google apps without the need for Google services installed on the mobile, the same could be done with Huawei mobiles, which use the so-called HMS (Huawei Mobile System).
At the moment, Huawei only has two ranges of mobiles without Google applications or services in the western market, that of the Mate 30 and, now, that of the P40, which we have already been able to test first hand in PIXEL. And although they are high-end phones with great features, they have significant software deficiencies.
Thus, this solution would allow them to acquire, at least, a significant part of those apps that are absent. It would still be possible to recover other big names such as Facebook, Instagram or WhatsApp, but according to what Huawei has communicated to CNBC, “we hope that Google services will be available through our AppGallery, in the same way that they are available through the App Store. from Apple”.
Despite the fact that Huawei’s main source of income continues to reside in China, where it is the main seller of mobile phones and other technological solutions, the veto in the US would have meant a loss of 9,150 million euros in revenue. The need to regain its position of power in the West, then, is crucial, either by being able to use Google services again or by adapting them to its app store.
